Ken, an Army veteran, was born on January 30, 1948 and died on April 1, 2011. I didn't know him in high school but I got to know him on our class's MyFamily website sometime before our 40th reunion. When it came time to think about the reunion, several people stepped up to help and he was one. It was because of Ken that I got involved with our class reunions, beginning with the 40th, when he called to ask if I would consider the treasurer's position. He was a great help, doing a lot of the work in El Paso to secure the reunion site. He was so kind. When a huge storm blew through El Paso and caused damage to gravesites at Mt. Carmel Cemetary, he offered to go check on my mom's gravesite. I was saddened to hear of his death. I remember that Cherry Miller Smith attended his funeral which was at Ft. Bliss National Cemetary.
